Wyndley Leisure Centre - Improvement Work Update

We would like to keep you updated on the construction works that commenced at Wyndley Leisure Centre on 4th October 2021. The construction works are planned to deliver the following improvements on the pitches:

  • An upgrade of the existing full-size hockey pitch up to a Federation International Hockey standard
  • Improvements to the adjacent pitch up to 4G standard
  • New fencing around the pitches that will enable safe and secure operation all year round
  • Enhanced floodlighting to the pitches

Since the construction work has started the following has been achieved by the contractors:

  • The old fencing has been removed
  • The previous carpets and shock pads have been removed
  • The Macadam paths pressured washed
  • Macadam repaired on 3G pitch
  • New shock pads for the 4G and 3G have delivered
  • The previous floodlights have been removed
  • The Irrigation Tank has been replaced, and irrigation work continues 

The next stages of the planned works taking place from week commencing 8th November, will include the following:

  • Start the installation of the shock pad on 3G pitch
  • The new Flood Lights and fence installation will commence
  • Completion of the irrigation works 
  • Repair perimeter Macadam paths where needed
  • Carpet delivery due for the 3G & 4G pitches

We are currently on track to meet the expected completion date of December 2021. We recognise that there has been some disruption whilst the improvement works are undertaken and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your continued understanding and patience during this time.
