Exciting things are happening at Farnworth Leisure Centre!
Farnworth Leisure Centre and Bolton Council have announced an exciting development project which will see a brand-new fitness studio coming to Farnworth.
The improvement works include a group exercise studio being built on the side of the current structure of the Leisure Centre, which will create additional space within the gym and enable us to offer exercise classes in the future. There will be a “shop” window built – allowing natural light to enter the facility which we know will improve our members’ experience.
Other upgrades such as installing new floors, windows and the re-painting of the whole gym will also take place during this time. A number of Life Fitness Circuit Series machines will be installed in the upgraded gym for our members and the wider community to benefit from.
The improvement works will mean that the gym equipment will have to be removed for a period - therefore the gym facilities will be out of use for around three months. We understand that the temporary loss of the gym facilities will be frustrating for our members, but, as part of your membership, you’re able to use the facilities at any other Bolton Community Leisure Trust sites. These are:
- Leverhulme Community Leisure Centre – 5 miles - BL2 6LB
- Sir Jason Kenny Centre – 6 miles - BL3 5BN
- Horwich Leisure Centre – 13 miles - BL6 5PY
- Westhoughton Leisure Centre – 7 miles - BL5 3BZ
It has also been confirmed that the pool at Farnworth will be unaffected by the improvement works, meaning members are still able to use the main swimming pool and the teaching pool whilst the works continue.
We know that these upgrade works will be a great benefit to our community and we’re aware that there will be some unease in the meantime. If you have any questions or queries about the upgrades and what it means to your membership – then please get in touch and we’ll do all we can to help.
