Carers Policy

As part of our mission to support the health and wellbeing of everyone in our community, we are pleased to give Carers free access to Northfield Leisure Centre to support children or adults with disabilities take part in activities at our centre and other centres in the Birmingham Community Leisure Trust contract including any gym, swimming, fitness classes and sports hall activities.

Carers must provide evidence they are an official Carer for example from a local authority letter or Carer Card provided by the local authority. Carers include Young Carers who are aged between 9 and 17. Please note all under 8's must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 16 or over, including Carers under the age of 8 in line with our Admissions Policy. A maximum of two Carers are allowed free access to the centre per each individual with a disability attending the centre.

We also follow the Birmingham Passport to Leisure scheme. Carers are admitted free for all swimming activities where accompanying an individual with a disability. Carers are admitted for free for gym, fitness class and sport activities to provide supervision for individuals with a disabilities. Carers who wish to use the gym, take part in fitness classes or sport activities are eligible for concessionary prices and memberships under the Passport for Leisure scheme.
